Doctor Vent cleans HVAC systems across Louisiana — supply ducts, return ducts, return plenums, registers, coils and air handlers, to the NADCA ACR standard, documented per unit. Louisiana has approximately 290,000+ multifamily units.
When Cleaning Is Warranted — and When It Is Not
We will tell you honestly. The EPA’s position is that routine duct cleaning in an uncontaminated system has not been shown to prevent health problems, and a vendor who quotes a whole-community duct clean without inspecting first is selling you something you may not need.
Cleaning is warranted where there is visible mould growth inside hard-surface ductwork or on HVAC components, vermin infestation, substantial deposits of dust and debris, or post-renovation and post-construction contamination. In Louisiana, extreme humidity makes Louisiana vents among the fastest-blocking in the country — which affects how quickly systems load and where microbial growth appears.
What We Clean
- Supply trunks and branch runs, under negative pressure with HEPA filtration
- Return ductwork and return plenums — where dust and microbial growth concentrate
- Evaporator and condenser coils — where the energy savings actually are
- Blower wheels, drain pans and condensate lines
- Registers, grilles and diffusers — removed, cleaned, refitted
- Bathroom and kitchen exhaust systems
Duct Material Determines Method
Sheet metal takes a rotary brush. Flexible duct does not — brushing tears the inner liner. Duct board cannot be brushed aggressively without releasing fibreglass into the airstream. A vendor arriving with one tool for all three will damage your system. We identify duct material before quoting.
Louisiana Markets We Serve
Our most active Louisiana markets include New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette. We service the whole state.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does commercial air duct cleaning cost in Louisiana?
$95–225 per unit for supply and return cleaning, depending on register count, duct material and whether coils are included. A 200-unit Louisiana property budgets roughly $19,000–45,000. Portfolio rates apply.
How often should Louisiana apartment ducts be cleaned?
There is no annual mandate as there is for dryer exhaust under NFPA 211. NADCA recommends inspection every two years, with cleaning when the inspection finds contamination. Most Louisiana properties clean on a 3–5 year cycle, with post-renovation cleaning triggered separately. Locally, extreme humidity makes Louisiana vents among the fastest-blocking in the country
When is duct cleaning actually warranted?
Visible mould growth inside the ductwork or on HVAC components. Vermin infestation. Substantial deposits of dust and debris, or particles discharging from registers. Post-renovation or post-construction debris. Post-fire or post-flood contamination. The EPA is clear that routine cleaning of a clean system has not been shown to prevent health problems — so we inspect before we quote, and we will tell you if it is not needed.
What is the NADCA ACR standard?
NADCA’s Assessment, Cleaning and Restoration of HVAC Systems standard. It defines what a clean system is, how to verify it, and what documentation proves it. We are a NADCA member and our supervisors hold ASCS certification.
Do you also clean dryer vents?
Yes — and if we are already in the unit, cleaning the dryer exhaust on the same visit costs a fraction of a separate mobilisation. Dryer exhaust is also the one system with a genuine annual inspection requirement under NFPA 211. Dryer vent cleaning in Louisiana.
